Please use the information below in tandem with my basic
craps bets and other craps bets sections.
A lot of what I will say below is basically reiterating my points about which
craps bets are smart and which ones are not so smart. Especially for newbies,
the suggestions below will hopefully be useful, and as time passes I hope to keep
adding based on my experiences or interactions with others
Find the tables with the lowest minimums - it's always safe to
start out this way, especially if your bankroll is not small. If you're a high-roller,
well, head on over to your high stakes tables then.
Bet the pass line and come bets - they are among the best bets
on the table and in the casino itself for that matter.
Take your odds where available - where a casino offers double,
triple or even higher odds bets, as long as your bankroll can afford it you should
make these odds bets - the house edge is lowered significantly when you do this.
Stay away from those center bets - yes those bets in the middle
of the table can be hazardous to your pocket. Simply avoid all those bets (hardway
bets and proposition bets), as they are basically there to take your money.
Avoid those field bets - field bets offer better odds than center
bets, but not better than the pass line and come bets, so it may be better to
simply avoid them altogether.
Tip the dealer - especially if you win! It's nice to throw then
back a chip or two. They often have good advice and suggestions to help you to
win a whole lot more. Maybe you'll even get some good karma by being nice!
